Practice Group Information

Intro to 5280 

Intro to 5280 is our starter group introducing young athletes to our team. Kiddos learn efficient and effective technique in all four strokes through the use of unique drill progressions and clear instruction. Basic dryland exercises and calisthenics are introduced. Swimmers are taught racing dives, flipturns and open turns. Meets are offered, but not required, every 3 months. Swimmers should be able to swim a 25 each of backstroke and freestyle legally for entry into this group.

Equipment: mesh bag, fins, goggles, water bottle, swim cap (optional)

Practice: 45 min



Bronze Group

Members who have graduated out of Intro to 5280, are offered practices 5 times a week in the Bronze Group. This is a competitive group that will continue building solid technique as well as providing challenging practices, teaching intervals and refining starts, turns and finishes. Dryland exercises continue to be introduced.  Members must be able to perform a 25 of each stroke legally as well as demonstrate a flip turn and an open turn. 

Equipment: mesh bag, Fins, goggles, water bottle, swim cap, front facing snorkel

Practice: Mon-Fri - 1 hour 



Silver Group

Members in this group continue refining stroke technique, starts and turns. Kicking and dryland take more prominence during training. Athletes in Silver Group will practice slightly longer than Bronze and are encouraged to increase attendance and participate in meets. This group is a great start for swimmers coming from summer club teams. Swimmers in this group should be able to swim a legal 50 of Back, Breast, Butterfly and Free to be in this group.

Gold Group

This group is perfect for athletes who would like to hone their swimming skills and technique, without committing to the attendance requirement of the Senior Group. Athletes that would like to improve their cardio or get in shape for the high school season do great in this group. Technique takes priority in this group, however swimmers complete challenging and rewarding sets everyday Meets are offered and encouraged to this group, but not required.

Equipment: mesh bag, fins, goggles, water bottle, swim cap, front facing snorkel, paddles

Swim: Mon-Fri - 1.5 hour



Technique/Fitness Group

Perfect Group for the "casually competitive" swimmer. Two or Three days a week options to accommodate the busiest families. Swimmers should be able to perform a 50 of each stroke legally to be in the Technique and Fitness group.
